I am so very sorry! I had planned on sharing these weeks ago but life has turned into a crazy, busy circus this past week or so with Maya breaking her arm at school so we have so many appointments of plaster changes and checks! I have also returned to study and although its only 2 days a week it is taking a little adjusting trying to fit it in, search for work, do my homework and the kids!!!! And I am missing my scrapping terribly but we all know how life can get in the way sometimes! However Raquel has just sent me next months kit and I am itching to create with it! it is GORGEOUS!!!!
But I am here now to share another two layouts using the equally as fabulous kit from this month!
I have tried to make this a little more feminine yet still my grungey style! i loved these series of photos of Maya walking so carefree on the beach.
I adore this film strip by Tim Holtz! I have added a few of the "studio calico" stickers, some dress making material, some misting and some more cut out stars from the glittery trim!
The grey frame you see is cut from the inside of one of the 'Echo Park tags". The rest of it is framing my centre photo!
Once again I have used the gorgeous flair button and YES! I have used a flower!!! it doesn't happen much these days but here you go! LOL!!
The title is cut from another tag from the "Echo Park" paper! Instant title!!! I also cut a circle from the vellum and placed behind my central photo! I am falling back in love with vellum! Who would have thought!!!?
This next one is using one of my instagram photos. Do you scrap yours? I love scrapping them. I feel like it makes me scrap more of the every day happenings in our life rather than just pretty, portrait style pics!
This is Will waiting excitedly to go on his Grade 3 camp!
I have created some interest on the patterned paper with some masking and misting and some texture paste.
I have cut the various patterned papers and some scraps of my own into circles and layered them around the photo.
I stamped the number three with an old "making memories" foam stamp. I am so glad I didn't get rid of these as I am starting to use them again!
Another close up of a fabulous flair button and a cut out from the studio calico speech bubble paper.
Well thanks for popping by, see you again soon, Eb xx

February Guest - Leonie Neal Dawson
Wow, Leonie sure has scrapbooked up a storm with this kit! I am loving all the different techniques we are seeing in her shares too:)
Layout title: taking speckies on mum
On this layout Leonie has cut a window from the black cardstock and used the vellum as a window. She has added silver colour shine to the background and created her own chevron embellishment stickers using the glitter tape.
The journaling boxes was from the Carta Bella Photo freedom paper, such a versatile piece!
Heres some close up details:
About these layouts in Leonie's words:
Both these turned out almost the same design wise, not intentional, I think I'm just liking this arrangement of photos and clusters of PP and embellishments at the moment.
With the first one I cut a window from the cardstock and backed the vellum behind it.
Arrows and chevrons are popular at the moment so I cut my own from the glitter strip and then added some of the SC stickers and scattered the sequins and stars about.
With the second layout up til now I hadn't used much of the washi so I wanted to put it to good use. so I made a banner with it and the twine from the kit. I wanted a really full, textural banner so I used as many of the elements in the kit as I could the film stip, glitter tape, sequins and even some of the exclamation marks from the wood veneer alphas.
I tried to use the banner as a link between each of the photo and paper clusters and then added the flowers and flair that I had left over. I cut the centre from some of the carta bella frames and framed my photo's with these.
There are some more kits in store here:
I have one last share coming from Leonie VERY soon :)

Another share from our February Guest Leonie Neal Dawson
Hello everyone,
Today I have another share from our February Guest Designer Leonie Neal Dawson
Leonie has scrapped up a storm with this kit and amazingly only has a few scraps of paper left, a few arrow stickers and a couple of wood veneer. I just love how Leonie uses paints and mists to create unique backgrounds on patterned paper.
Here is her page:
Layout title: Jacquesy
The journaling was created by creating a cluster of speech bubbles and journaling inside that, great idea hey!
I love this little detailed cluster of embellishments - including our exclusive kit Cherry Flair.

February Guest Designer Share - Leonie Neal Dawson
using the February release available at
by Leonie Neal Dawson
Hello everyone,
Well I am back again today with another share from the lovely Leonie.
This time Leonie has created an adorable feminine page with the February release. This page just proves how versatile our kits really are. They are not gender specific and can suit all types of scrapping of project life purposes :)
Layout title: My Crazy Girl
I love how Leonie has added dimension to the Heidi Swapp background paper by using texture paste and a mask. Team that with strips of the patterned paper and a decorative edge punch, yep, so effective :) Leonie has also incorporated the Carta Bella paper journal block into her title:
Close up of the title and embellishment cluster:
Look how Leonie has used the glitter tape in the layout below, arrow heads, cool hey?!
I hope you have enjoyed this share by Leonie, there is more coming soon so stay tuned :)

February Guest Designer - Leonie Neal Dawson
Using our February release kit available here
Hello everyone!
I am so excited to share a layout that our guest designer for this month has created using our February kit :)
Here is the first layout she has created with her kit.
Layout title: A Goodbye Selfie
I love how Leonie has highlighted the designs in the Amy Tan paper by adding colour. She has also maximised the Darling Deer studio calico paper by cutting out the speech bubbles. What a special moment she has managed to capture, sending off her son to his first school camp.
Close up of our Cherry Flair - Leonie has used our Sweet Love and Everyday Paint Flairs here.
If you like the look of the flair in this layout they are available in our store here

And a close up of the paint and speech bubble details:
Hope you like what Leonie has created with our kit so far, there is more from her coming VERY soon!

New month= new kit! Yippeeee!!!
Hi again everyone!
have you all started to get back into a normal routine yet? I am only just beginning to. My youngest has just started school and i can tell you it was a bag of mixed emotions with me. I was rather emotional about it all. Not having any more babies at home, having to go back to study and work but also happy and proud as she went off without tears and full of confidence. Made me feel like I have done something right!!!
Now onto some inspiration using this gorgeous new kit! How awesome is it??!!! I loved everything about it!!!! Once again I have 4 layouts to share over the next few weeks so let's start with a fun one!
This is a layout of Will on AFL grandfinal day last year! He is a big Hawthorn supporter and I had organised a scrap weekend in a nearby town. At my retreat was a very clever lady "Bronny Kosch" who does fantastic face painting and she offered to paint not only Will's face but my daughter's and my two nieces faces!
So cool....?!!!
Here is my layout......
As you can see once again I have started with a white cardstock background and used various mists, texture paste and stamping to create a fun background! I then cut some triangle/arrows from the patterned papers in the kit ( I did use some scraps from a past kit her also as I need some yellow) to make a feature and highlight my photo! I LOVEd the little 'studio calico" stars, alphas and arrows too!!!!
So just a simple layout but heres a tip.......I used a small star punch to cut some small stars from my glitter piece of trim!
Next is another fun, boyish layout! This is a christmas day photo! Will got from Santa an X Box game called Skylanders giants. These colours worked perfectly for my photo on a kraft background!
Lots of strips of pattern and colour mixed with all the gorgeous embellishments in the kit. You don't need to always use large pieces of patterned papers. Cutting lots of different ones ( I have once again added a few different ones from my own stash) is a gun and effective way to bring lots of colours and patterns to your layouts. Add is some misting and stamping and there you have it!
LOVE these little arrows found amongst the studio calico alphabet! I just added the 3 brads in the kit to the middle of them!
This "cherry flair" wasn't one of the ones in the kit but it is available to purchase as an extra! LOVE, LOVE it!
I have used the speech bubble paper to cut out some cool word strips for my page too!
Well hope you find these inspiring and you too are getting in some scrapping time! Be back soon with some more shares!

February Guest Designer - Leonie Neal Dawson
I am very pleased to share our Guest Designer for this month, the lovely Leonie Neal Dawson!
Hello
Leonie Neal-Dawson here and I’m very happy to be guest designing for A Piece of
Cake Designs this month.
I'm married to Greg and we have four children together, a boy 12,
twin boys 9, and a girl 8.
Needless to say I'm never short of subjects to photograph and scrap
about.
Life is busy and at times quite
crazy but as long as I find time to scrap I shall remain sane, well
mostly!
I
have been scrapbooking for over 10 years now and I guess you could say that scrapbooking has
forever changed the way that I record and preserve my family’s stories. I love it more and more everyday. There’s always another story to tell, more product to buy, what’s
not to love?
Mostly I
scrap 12x12 pages and my favorite ‘thing’ at the moment is to create fun
backgrounds for my scrapbook pages using inks, paints, sprays, stencils and
stamps
.
I've been on the design teams for several challenge sites over the
last two years and at present am on the Show Us Your Stuff team. I’m also on
the Design Team for 2Crafty Chipboard.
I reached one of my ultimate
Scrappy goals late last year when I was chosen as a 'Master' for the Australian
magazine Scrapbooking Memories for 2012 throughout 2013.
My blog address is http://leonieslife-leonie.blogspot.com.au/
if you’d like to check out some of my pages.
I’m
looking forward to creating with the February APOCD kit and I hope I inspire
you to get creative with your kit.
Cheers Leonie.
