Something a bit different

for me, Malinda, at least...using the JULY KIT from APOCD.

My first fun run, 8km, Mother's Day Classic, with my amazing training group buddies! What a day! Up early, rain, sun, thousands of people, hills, sweat and a whole lot of fun!!!

Loved all the BITS in the kit. Perfect for framing the pic. I don't SCRAP portrait pics often, I find them a challenge. But lately I've doing a few of these kind of STRIP layouts. Bits and pieces of PP, tags, rubons, tape around the pic.

A week until the new release from APOCD, can't wait to see the new kit!
Wonder what NEW things I can come up next month.

JULY RECIPE

So with the July kit, which is yummy yummy yummy I've done a few pages one of which is this one...

So for this page you will need

*October Afternoon 'Cakewalk - Sugar Stix' Patterned Paper
*Echo Park 'Sweet Day - Journal Card' Patterned Paper
*Studio Calico - Calico2 Letter Stickers
*pea pod twinery
*pink ribbon from past kit
*music button from kit
*paint
*lace or tulle
*square photo - I used a largish one

Step 1
time to do our background...paint! So just a few blobs of paint and then smeared.

Step 2
I used the EXTRA washi tape available in the shop and placed a few random length pieces around the photo. I haven't secured my photo yet just placed it so I would know where to put my tape.

Step 3
Use your tulle or lace to add dimension under your photo. You want it to be larger than your photo and not regular in shape.

Secure photo and tule using staples.

Step 4
Tie your ribbon in a half bow and place your button over part of the ribbon and twirl some twine around the button and secure all of it. I use staples for the ribbon and pritt for the button and twine.

Step 5
Take the Echo Park 'Sweet Day - Journal Card' Patterned Paper and cut out a day of the week (other side of the PP) and three other strips of paper about 7cm long and 1.5cm wide. Randomly fold the three strips as shown and place the day of the week tag on top.

Step 6:
Decide on your title. A 3 or 4 word title works best, with a main word and not too long as the last word.

Place word on photo and doodle around the letters.

Add your own bits to the page and make it yours.
Hope you like it!

Please load your pages to the APOCD FB page HERE...can't wait to see your take on my recipe.
