Another Christmas layout!

Hi again everyone! I was thinking you might like to see my final layout for this month and seeing its a public holiday today you might even find time to scrap!
This layout is another Christmas one this time of my little posing santa!!!
 Isnt she cute!??? LOL!

I have created the background by dropping a few drops of "Heidi Swapp Colour shine ( mint green)" onto white cardstock and then used a credit card to swipe it all over. Then I have used lots of thin strips of the various pattern papers in the kit and the sticker borders to create most of the rest!

I have added two wooden 'studio calico" trees and of course a "cherry flair button!
once again I have coloured my alphas using some mist. This time a "dylusions ( bubblegum pink) spray.
Add a bit more washi tape, some stamping and texture paste and you have a fun, christmas layout!!!

Can't wait to share more next month with you.....Eb xxx

Some DT News

Sadly Mal's last month at APOCD was December. She is leaving our little team at APOCD due to family commitments.

Wishing Mal the best and I am sure she will continue to create and inspire :) ...

Stay tuned as we will be having a Guest DT each month as well as monthly inspiration from the lovely Ebony van der Starre

Tis the season to be jolly....falalalalala

Hi, just Eb checking back in to share another creation with you using the latest kit!
And yep it's a christmas layout! I'm loving it as I am actually scrapping my latest christmas photos and not waiting til next christmas when all the christmas challenges come out!!!

This one is of Will...........
Once again I have used some white cardstock as my background and used some mist to create the starry background. On top of that I have doodled in some black drawn stars and used a few splatters of paint.

I have used lots of the "Crate paper" tags on this one and just a tip. Don't look at the tag as a whole piece because sometimes you see them and they don't match your layouts design or colour scheme. What I usually do is look at the top and maybe the bottom half of the tags and just use those by hiding them behind photos or other papers on my layout to give the illusion that the are one whole tag. You can see I have done this with the minty green tag behind my photo. Its only the top and bottom pieces cut. By doing this it also makes the tag fit better  under my photo as it appears longer than it really is.  I have also only used the top of the red tag as seen here. So don't be afraid to chop them up and mix and match them to suit your page.

I have also used the totally awesome "cherry flair button", the wooden veneer "studio calico" trees, the "crate paper" border stickers and tabs and the adorable birdie washi tape. ( I have linked the shop so you can check out the other cherry flairs in the range however these were exclusive to this kit)
So I hope you are enjoying creating with this kit. Don't forget we have a facebook page so if you feel like sharing your creations with us we would love to see!

January Kit Inspiration

Hi there! Happy New Year!!

I am so excited to back this year sharing some creativity with you using these gorgeous kits!
This months kit was like every month...AMAZING! Raquel does a brilliant job at selecting the perfect ingredients to these kits. So much so that this kit sold out in minutes!!! WOW!
Also now Raquel has been busy making one of my favourite embellishments, "Cherry Flair Buttons". How cool are they???/ LOVE them! And when you buy the kits you get three exclusive ones!

So to kickstart your creativity this year I want to share two layouts with you. One is christmas themed but the other is not.
I am not a person who likes to use traditional christmas products on a page so I love the variation of colours in this kit!
The first one is photos of my two cheeky children! I loved the different expressions on their faces. Will has a naughty look and Maya a sweet, nice look so that is where the title comes from!
The first thing I usually do is add some misting. I have used a contrasting yellow this time.
I have then used various strips of the patterned papers along with some ruled black pen lines to create a cool background on my cardstock. I have added a couple of strips of some washi tape that I had in my own stash and just used an arrow stamp of my own.
I loved the Crate paper tags. I used them on each layout, So easy, just cut them out and use as awesome photo matts or as cool additions to your page as I have done here.
I also used lots of the cute hearts on the Studio Calico sticker sheet. I then just highlighted them with my black pen.....easy embellishment and so effective. You could paint over them or mist them too if you wanted.
I have also

Speaking of misting you can see that my letters are not the same colour as in your kit. Well I decided I needed my title to be brighter so I grabbed some green and red mist and sprayed my letters! Just pop them in a misting box, spray your choice of mist colours and allow to dry.
Before I adhere them to my page I just drew a rough circle with black pen to make my title stand out.
There you have one simple layout!

This one is a non christmas themed layout because i wanted to show you how versatile this kit and all the kits can be.
I have based this layout on a challenge over at the  'Scrap the boys" site.

This month the challenge is to scrap a layout featuring your son's favourite holiday/summer activity and use that to inspire your layout

So here it is. I do apologise though as I struggled to get a good photo of it:/

You can see I have used all the bright coloured papers and cut them into strips once again.I have used a tag again and cut some stars with the papers.

I added some modelling paste and some stamping to the background for interest and used a lettering stencil with some paint. I have also used some left over cardstock that I used when I was cutting out some circles on my cricut and some arrows cut from scraps of black cardstock.
But you can see you are no limited to only creating christmas layouts!

Hope that kickstarts your year creatively! Eb x
