STORE NEWS SUNDAY - January Releases and a Project Life Share

Hello everyone!

Welcome to todays Store News Sunday post. Today I have two reasons for posting; one is to share with you about the awesome things happening in the APOCD store, and the second is to share an AMAZING Project Life spread by the lovely and talented Jodie from Polka Dot Creative

Firstly, our January Main Kit sold out super quick so unfortunately that is no longer available. We still have a couple of these cupcake kits left though. Let me tell you there is SO MUCH value in this bitty kit; the double scoop gelatos, the whole die cut pack, heaps of papers and so much more!

You can snag one up here

This month we also have the most amazing cut file sets, I am just totally loving them!

The following are designed by Jodie from Polka Dot Creative. If you keep reading this post you will also see some gorgeous pages she has created by using the brush files (.abr files) available when purchasing.

This one is perfect for any celebrations that you may have, new year, birthdays, weddings, Australia day, etc.

That wine glass! So adorable x

A set just for Australia Day, I am picturing these as brushes on photos, they would just look amazing.

And finally, Hello 2015, a set perfect for your title page, new years pages and more!

We also have two releases from the talented Rachel Hodge. These sets were created with a Back to School theme in mind. I just love the elements Rachel has managed to include, the pencils and stars are a personal fave!

This set can be used to create Project Life cards for your album, or you could even use them on a traditional page, mini album etc. Did you see Nat's awesome post using these yesterday?

Before I leave today I wanted to finish up with a layout share from Jodie, using the designs that she scripted on her pages.

Looks like she had a little help to photograph!

On this particular page she has used the Hello 2015 brush script files and the Clink Click set.

Here is a better view of the scripted files :) The black and white and pops of colour from the photos really makes this layout stand out!

And some super detailed shots:

My personal fave; cheers! x

Awesome hey! These files and more can be found in our store www.apieceofcakedesigns.com.au

Thanks for visiting, I hope everyone is having a beautiful weekend.

Lovely Together .... Natalie May

Hey guys

How has your week been?
Managed to get any creating done?

Today I'm showing a page I created using the Jewel Sentiments Cut Files and the November Cupcake kit

I wanted to cut some shapes into the background and this file was perfect.

I took the file of the two triangles duplicated them a few times to create the background I was after and the set it to cut.

I used snippets of the gorgeous Heidi Swapp paper and adhered them behind each cut out to add some colour.

I decided it needed a little splash of ink so I used the Prima Ink pad, made a little puddle of ink, added a generous amount of water and them splattered it onto my background!

I used the 'together' cut file from the Gather Together Cut Files released this month and inked it also in the Blue Prima Ink!

Thanks for sropping by ... Have a great weekend!

DESIGN TEAM ANNOUNCEMENT - Final Members & STORE NEWS

Hey everyone

This evening I am here to announce the final 3 members of the APOCD Team.

Firstly I would like to introduce you to Aimee Dow. Aimee's pages are always well designed and eye catching. Her use of colour and embellishments are so well balanced, its like everything has found its perfect place.  I know Aimee's projects will provide our followers with lots of inspiration, both in Project Life and traditional layouts.

Here is a bit about Aimee in her own words:

My name is Aimee Dow and I'm a scrapper by day, web designer by night although my husband very much wishes it was the other way round. I've been scrapping for nearly 2 years. I started project life in January 2013 and page scraping January 2014. I just turned 30 and got my first real camera. Up until this point I was strictly an iPhone photographer. They all thought I was snap happy before!

The next designer we are welcoming to out APOCD is the super sweet Anna Allan. I first 'met' Anna throughout my time on Jot Magazine. I loved how Anna interpreted challenges and themes and I think she will bring a lovely versatility to our team at APOCD. I was then fortunate to meet her quirky self at a Port Lincoln retreat, the amazing Escape 2 Create.

Here is a little bit about Anna in her own words:

My name is Anna Allan. I am 31 years old, married with 2 daughters aged 6 and 3 years old. I live in a small farming (predominantly cropping) community north of the beautiful beach-side town of Esperance, Western Australia.

I am inspired by the world around me and the people in it, and feel compelled to capture and record life's moments. The world of scrapbooking/memory-keeping allows me to do this plus provides the creative outlet that I need!

Our final designer is the super talented Felicity Wilson. Felicity has a gorgeous unique style which features multiple layers and dimension and her trademark florals. Who said flowers can't be on masculine pages? Certainly not Felicity! Felicity has been a big supporter of APOCD so check out her posts on her blog to see what she has created with our kits in the past.

Here is a bit about Felicity in her own words:

I have always been a crafty kinda girl. I love putting different textures together, colour, reminiscing about a photo.... It feels like 50 years, only problem is I am not that old, lol... Nah, realistically I have been scrapping for over, 6 years, but I really got into after my eldest son’s birth. Sheesh - that's 5 years ago!! Time flies when you’re having fun!! I am a white paper covered in the colours of the rainbow with lots of fibres to make it lumpy and bumpy type of scrapper!!

Today I would like to share with you another digital designer creating the most awesome cut files and brushes for APOCD, Rachel Hodge.

Here is a little bit about Rachel so you can get to know her better:

I am a stay at home Aussie Mum to not 1, or 2 but 3 boys (well make that 4 if you include the hubby). I have so many passions including scrapbooking, decorating my home, planning holidays and capturing those special moments with my handy camera side kick. I got into scrapbooking 9 years ago after having my first son and have been doing it ever since, although being able to make the time for it is a little more tricky these days. These past few years I've been focusing more on my photography, renovating our half done house, trying out new recipes and now creating my own digital designs. So that about sums me up, a little bit crafty and a little bit busy.

Please join me in welcoming these talented creatives to APOCD.
I can't wait to see where this new path takes us!
